Veteran's of Foreign Wars are men and women that have put their lives on the line to serve and protect all the things that make the United States of America the greatest nation in the world. We eagerly support all young people that believe in the same principles and want to use their talents, education, and efforts to serve the community and make our great country even better.
What is the VFW 1526 Scholarship Program?
This program is conducted exclusively for the support of Medway High School students that will seek further trade licensing or professional college education following graduation.
For 2024, 12th Grade Medway High School students must submit (postmarked) their essay by April 30, 2024 so that they may be judged and scholarships awarded by May 30, 2024. This is a very short time frame so get started right away.
All entries should be mailed to Scholarship Program, VFW Post 1526, 123 Holliston Street, Medway, MA 02053. Include your name, grade level, and mailing address. All entries will receive a mailed response.
Why Should I Enter?
Scholarships of $1,000.00 will be awarded to each of the 5 top rated entries each year.
The Internal Revenue Service requires a recipient awarded more than $599 be given a Form 1099 identifying the proceeds as taxable income. This may require the winner to provide their social security number.
